Tire Health
Your vehicle's tires play a very important part in keeping you and your vehicle safe. If not maintained they will increase you r operating cost and reduce you r safety in the vehicle.
Here are some facts for you to consider:
- 95% of your vehicle's weight is supported by your tire's air pressure, with the tire supporting just 5%, making inflation a critical part of a tire's ability to perform.
- 70% of all vehicles have at least one tire with an inflation problem.
- 17% of vehicles have at least one tire over inflated by more than 20%, this will result in excessive tire wear and reduced vehicle handling.
- Driving with one tire under-inflated by 29% results in consuming approximately two weeks more of fuel per year and reduces your tire's life by six to nine months.
- Under-inflation is the leading cause of tire failure.
- Inflate your tires with Nitrogen
- Perform and Alignment
When your tires are mis-alignment and/or under inflated, this causes uneven tire wear, diffculty in steering and increased fuel consumption. When your tires are in alignment, you will experience longer tire life, a smoother ride (safer too!) and a reduction in harmful situations.
- Add a GM Tire Protection Plan to cover all your tires (Winter, Summer/All Season and Space)
